2009 Professional Scientist Remuneration Survey
GreetingsFor the past 2 years APESMA and FASTS have cooperated to produce an annual professional scientists remuneration survey.
The 2009 survey is now open and we would be grateful if you could forward the URL to all of your members (including those working outside universities and publicly funded research agencies) and ask them to take a few minutes to fill out the online survey.

The survey will take 5-10 minutes to complete. No identification is necessary and all information will remain strictly confidential and used in aggregate form only.
The survey is a good opportunity for member societies to build stronger links with your members and gain a better understanding of changing employment trends of your own constituents.
The survey questionnaire will remain open for completion until Friday, 15 May 2009. We will forward general results in June
In addition, society specific data can be supplied providing there are sufficient numbers. If you would like that specific information please let me know in due course.
Unlike engineers, architects, psychologists etc there is no accreditation of scientists thus it is hard to get a handle on how the profession is travelling (if indeed it really is a profession as distinct from, say, a vocation). Thus both APESMA and FASTS hope that over time this survey may become a useful and relatively robust instrument to get a better sense of what is happening to scientists remuneration.
I hope everyone has a relaxing few days off over Easter.
Regards
